Last year was quite an interesting year for music. Some fine EP’s were thrown down by the Dum Dum Girls, Rubblebucket, Dirty Projectors, Burial, and The Antlers. We saw huge comeback albums from veterans like Bob Dylan, Donald Fagen, and Fionna Apple. Solid first albums from new-comers like, Jessie Ware, Daughn Gibson, Purity Ring, and Django Django. Mainstream flops from Madonna, Chris Brown, Soundgarden, and Green Day to name just a few, and huge mainstream hits from newcomers Gotye, as well as breakouts by Fun., The Wanted, and One Direction, and don’t forget the enormous Gangnam Style. Last year also saw disappointing records from the likes of Animal Collective, El Perro Del Mar, and Chad Valley left us wondering where music was headed…Well, the juggernaut keeps on rollin’ into 2013, so lets look forward at some new releases from 2013 so far, some real colorful tunes.
I hope you enjoy, and lets aim for greater positivity in 2013! C’mon people just remember what it was like to be young.
