The tradition of summertime parades in the US extends back to the 18th century, and is a deeply rooted cultural ritual that helps to define any good summer vacation. Definitely the best part is watching the look on the little one’s faces as they clamour for candy. Ultimately it is fascinating to see what kids will sit through when candy is thrown at them. Likewise it is fun to see the chain of vintage cars, costumed people, army vets, shriners, clowns, farm equipment, and cops venture out in the scalding heat, to participate in the parade. Just wave around a few flags while your at it, and feel the American pride.
